Can We TRUST the Bible?

1. Understand the CLAIMS

The Bible, at the end of the day, is a very human book.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.    -2 Timothy 3:16

2. Examine the EVIDENCE

Against:

(The Bible) is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and, for my part, I sincerely detest it as I detest everything that is cruel.    -Thomas Paine

Objections: Logical, Historical, Moral

For: 

We have in our hands in substantial integrity the veritable word of God.

Confirmations: Unity, Prophecy, Archaeology, Capability

3. Determine your RESPONSE

Pick a PROMISE 

and ask God to PROVE it

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ 

with a resounding “Yes!”    

-2 Corinthians 1:20
