DEAR SANTA, PLEASE TAKE AWAY MY ANXIETY

Luke 2:25-32 (NIV)


Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:


“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,

you may now dismiss your servant in peace.

For my eyes have seen your salvation,

which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:

a light for revelation to the Gentiles,

and the glory of your people Israel.”


Only Jesus Can…

1. REMOVE our SINS
I’ll forever wipe clean the slate of their sins.    -Hebrews 10:17 (Msg)


2. RELIEVE our FEARS

Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.    -‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:18‬ (‭NLT‬‬)


3. RESTORE our PEACE

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!    -‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6-7‬ ‭(NLT)

The Lord will work out his plans for my life—

for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. 

Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
