Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, 

binding yourselves together with peace.

-Ephesians 4:3

Peace is not the absence of CONFLICT; 

it is the restoration of WHOLENESS

33 Suppose someone digs or uncovers a pit and fails to cover it, and then an ox or a donkey falls into it. 34 The owner of the pit must pay full compensation to the owner of the animal, but then he gets to keep the dead animal. -Exodus 21:33-34

WHY THINGS ESCALATE:

  1. We perceive loss

  2. We identify the most likely offender

  3. We place blame

  4. War breaks out

THE ONLY REAL SOLUTION:

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.    -Isaiah 9:6

INNER peace leads to OUTER peace

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.    -2 Thessalonians 3:16

God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.    -Matthew 5:9
