What Jesus Said…

1. Because of OUR SIN, we’ve all been SENTENCED to HELL

47 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net that was thrown into the water and caught fish of every kind. 48 When the net was full, they dragged it up onto the shore, sat down, and sorted the good fish into crates, but threw the bad ones away. 49 That is the way it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked people from the righteous, 50 throwing the wicked into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 51 Do you understand all these things?” “Yes,” they said, “we do.”    -Matthew 13:47-51 (NLT)

Hell is…

  • A real, everlasting place, created for the devil and his angels

  • A place of punishment after judgment

  • A place of fire, darkness and lamenting

  • A place of never-ending torment

2. Because of HIS GIFT, we’ve all been INVITED to HEAVEN

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.    -John 3:16-17 (NLT)

1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.    -John 14:1-3 (NLT)

Heaven is…

  • A real place created for God, the angels and all God’s children

  • The absence of death, sorrow crying and pain

  • A temporary waiting place until the Day of Judgment, AND

  • An eternal place (the new heavens and the new earth)

2 Questions:

  • Am I a Child of God?

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”    -John 3:3 (NLT)

  • Am I an Ambassador for Jesus?

Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.    -Mark 5:19 (ESV)
