Ephesians Chapter 4

1. You’re INVITED

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.    -Ephesians 4:1

2. You’re INDISPENSABLE

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.    -Ephesians 4:16

3. You’re IN PROCESS

21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, 22throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.    -Ephesians 4:21-24

YOU HAVE ONE JOB:

INSTEAD, LET THE SPIRIT

MIDWEEK MOTIVATION: For Reflection & Discussion

1. Read slowly through Ephesians Chapter 4, taking note of what God shows you.

2. How does it feel to know that you have been “called” (invited) by God to participate in what He wants to do both in your life and through your life (Ephesians 4:1)?

3. The Apostle Paul says that every part of Christ’s Body has “its own special work” to do (Ephesians 4:16). What do you think is your own special work? What’s a step you could take to clarify your work, and to get started? How could you use your time, your talents and your treasure to partner with God in what He is doing in the world?

4. In what ways have you “caught yourself doing something right” when it comes to putting on your new nature and letting God’s Spirit make changes in you (Ephesians 4:23-24)?
